Good blog Jan.

Think Nash and Vesey have been good. The Zuke/Stepan/Kreider line I would say has been good, just not scoring, but the chances and effort are there.

Move Vesey back with Nash. Miller back with Hayes and Fast with Lindberg on the 4th. Done. That was easy

All those work for me. Think in line with what we have hoped for a while. Hopefully AV listens. Not sure I fully agree about the Stepan line, very spotty in my opinion in terms of play.

Keep Zucc and Kreider together, but get Stepan the hell out of there

I like the Stepan lines chances in the offensive end, defensively they have been trapped in their own zone a bit too much for my liking.

I have a feeling they are going to have a very big game soon though.

Those leads blown late. McDonagh hitting the post. Nash with the open net and Martinez just getting his stick in the way to deflect it. The non-call in the goalie interference. But I don't think about it at all 😄

It sucks though cause his passes have been pretty good. Stepan just couldn't score on the ocean from the beach

Well Rangers have Ducks number so you can bank those 2 pt's - for some reason The blue shirts are just a horrible matchup for Ducks - and though it pains me to say it... everyone around me always seems to sell their seats to Rangers fans so it will basically be a home game for the Rangers at least in be lower bowl where my seats are ...

Get Buch back in and move Grabs up with Ziba and Nash, agree to keep Miller with Hayes, I like the 4th line of Vesey-Lindberg-Buch, Lindberg has been their best Center over the last 3 to 4 weeks

Lindberg and Fast were actually the best duo a lot of nights before the Fast injury. Don't know why AV has such a (frank)ing hard on about trying to get Fast in the top 9. He has tried and it hasn't worked since he became a coach, he plays his best on the 4th line.

Its almost like Zuke and Kreider are purposely feeding Step to get him out of the slump. Need to just play to their strengths.

I know watch different games then most people do, but I've seen Stepan play great lately and it just will not go past the goalie unless it hits iron. And the team has played better then the record says. When they were losing around the midway mark, like to Dallas for example, the play was much worse. Especially defensively. Collectively they just seem snakebit more then they were previously, the effort, will and sticking up for each other has been there imo. Hopefully Girardi and Hank give the spark they need, and both make the PK much better which is def the worst part of their game right now

I actually agree with you that they haven't necessarily played that bad during this stretch. They just can't finish right now, and the special teams is killing them. When you can't score on the PP, and your PK is playing like crap, that's a recipe for losing a lot of games. Also, not extending a lead when you have a chance to, because you are blowing Grade A scoring opportunities. In sum, in this league, regardless of whether you are playing decent hockey, it's hard to win if your special teams is struggling and you can't finish your chances.
